If you want to kill ants, read our earlier guide “Best Homemade DIY Ant Killers“. If you just want to get rid of ants with natural way, use these ant repellent sprays.
1. Ant Repellent Spray Based on Essential Oils
You need..
- Liquid Castile soap (unscented or peppermint) – 4 ounces
- Tea tree oil – 10 drops
- Eucalyptus oil – 5 drops
- Warm water – 1 cup
- Spray bottle (larger or pint-sized) – 1
The steps are:
- Put the warm water into the spray bottle and add the tea tree oil, eucalyptus oil and castile soap.
- Cap the spray bottle tightly and shake well.
- Apply the Ant repellent spray to window, baseboards and door frames.
2. Peppermint Ant Repellent Spray
You need..
- Peppermint Essential Oil – 15 drops
- Citronella Essential Oil – 5 drops
- Lavender Essential Oil – 5 drops
- Distilled water – 1.5 ounces & High proof alcohol (E.x vodka) – 1.5 ounces .If you not have alcohol, just use 3 ounces distilled water.
The steps are:
- Fill a spray bottle with high proof alcohol – 1.5 ounces (or distilled water 3 ounces) & 1.5 ounces distilled water.
- Also add citronella, peppermint and lavender essential oils.
- Secure the spray cap and shake well.
- Use the spray in kitchen surfaces where ants enter.
Note : Shake the spray bottle before each use.
3. Natural Ant repellent spray
You need..
- Apple cider vinegar – 2 cups
- Dish liquid – 2 TB
- Baking soda – 2 TB
- Fill the rest of the bottle with water
The steps are:
- Mix this over the sink (when you add vinegar to baking soda it will create a lot of foam. But it will settle down when you add water).
- This repellent spray working well with outdoor plants. If you want to use this spray for indoor use, spray over the entire area (ants path).
